Poudre Fire Authority covers 235 square miles in Northern Colorado to include the following areas, Fort Collins, Laporte, Bellvue, Timnath and Horsetooth Reservoir. Poudre Fire Authority began in 1981 with the merger of Fort Collins Fire Department and Poudre Valley Fire Protection District. Poudre Fire Authority is a majority career agency with 11 career stations and two volunteer stations. PFA is an all hazards department and responds to Fire, Medical, Technical Rescue, Wildland, Hazmat and other good intent calls for service.
