On June 30th, 2025 at 17:39 Windsor Severance Fire Rescue, Greeley Fire Department - Greeley, Colorado and Eaton Fire Protection District were dispatched by the Weld County Regional Communications Center to a working commercial fire in the 400 block of N Main Street. Initial callers reported hearing explosions coming from the business and confirmed a working fire. Upon arrival Tower 401 began a 360 and confirmed a working fire on the Charlie side. Firefighters stretched an attack line to the rear of the structure and began to extinguish the fire on the exterior. Once the exterior fire had been extinguished the crew made the push, interior, to locate the seat of the fire. Firefighters were confident they had a good knock on the bulk of the fire and began attempting to locate the remainder of the fire. Firefighters were able to utilize thermal imaging cameras to determine the fire was still smoldering in an area that was mostly unreachable due to power lines. Battalion 401 requested a second alarm be triggered to bring additional resources to the scene and that Xcel Energy be contacted. Firefighters worked to pull the siding and ceiling within the structure to check for any extension and hotspots. Upon Xcel’s arrival the utility was secured and firefighters began work to confirm the entire fire had been extinguished. Once the fire was out, crews began ventilation to clear the smoke and create a safe environment for an investigation. Crews remained on scene for several hours completing an extensive overhaul and investigation. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Windsor Severance Fire Rescue.
