On July 25, 2025 at approximately 16:20 Windsor Severance Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 4600 block of Freehold Drive. Engine 404 arrived on scene and reported nothing showing. Upon entry Engine 404 reported smoke inside the structure and claimed the investigative mode. Engine 403 was assigned to gain a water supply and stretch a secondary line. Tower 401 was tasked with preparing for roof operations in the case that this incident turned out to be an attic fire. Greeley Engine 106 arrived on scene and assumed the Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC) assignment. Firefighters spent time attempting to locate the cause of the smoke, ultimately determining the likely cause to be the air conditioning unit. Firefighters assisted the homeowners with ventilation of the smoke utilizing a positive pressure fan. No injuries were reported.
