On September 11th, 2001, our nation lost thousands. Year after year since then, stair climbs are hosted across the nation where first responders and community gather to honor the sacrifice and our promise to never forget by climbing the equivalent to 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center Towers. I participated in the Colorado 9-11 Stair Climb at Red Rocks in the morning alongside 2,000 other climbers, many first responders in their own gear. That evening I climbed with my wife at the NOCO 9-11 Stair Climb. To see the amount of people that came out for both of these events was incredible. It is easy for us to get into the grind and not recall the past until it is time for the next day in remembrance, I hope we can cherish these individuals and learn about who they were and live like them. This year I climbed in honor of Firefighter Kevin Pfeifer and Firefighter Gary Geidel. May each story live on through each climb.
