The Colorado State Fire Fighters Association and the Colorado State Fire Fighters Foundation hosted the 107th Annual Fire College in Fort Collins, Colorado, in June 2025. The event gathered firefighters from across the state for training on various topics. Instructors from "When Things Go Bad" were part of the faculty, teaching courses on unconventional ladder techniques, through-the-lock entry, and truck work. Firefighters practiced throwing ladders both solo and with a partner, adding a versatile range of knowledge to their skill sets. They also trained on victim rescue using ladders and a Stokes basket, employing several different techniques. The training emphasized that having unconventional methods stored in a firefighter's mental toolbox, even if only used once in a career, could be crucial in a critical situation.
